Copy Cat

Today was a fun day.  Mommy and I took Ella to the dentist and since Ella got some toys, they let me have a rubber duck.  I immediately stuck it in my mouth and proceeded to chew on it.  After I dropped it on the floor, Mommy hid it from me mumbling something about the floor being dirty.  At first I was mad and wanted it back but I tend to forget about things quickly.

Anyway, Mommy has noticed a lot of changes in me lately.  I have been working hard on imitating what I see.  Today Mommy was banging on my drum and as soon as she stopped, I copied her and started banging on the drum.  Later I noticed Ella putting things in a bowl and dumping them out.  I thought it looked like fun and tried to help her.  I was good at putting things in the bowl but not very good at pouring them out.  It was kind of heavy.

I also work very hard at trying to get to things I can't reach.  A little more leg strength and I'll be crawling all over!  In the meantime I find that I can roll to get to new places, so that's what I do.  I am also able to stand for a little bit longer every day.  Today I practically threw myself off of Mommy's lap to get to a remote.  I would've succeeded if Mommy hadn't pulled me back.  She's always ruining my fun!

When Daddy came home from work today I was very excited.  I'm always happy to see him but today after he gave me a quick kiss, he started to leave to go change his clothes.  I became very upset.  I started whining and put my arm out and used my hand to wave him back towards me.  He thought it was so cute that he gave in and came back to play with me a little bit longer.  I'm not even 8 months old yet and I've got these two parents wrapped around my finger!  Suckers!!
